An Emergency Department RN is a professional, registered nurse who assumes responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a nursing plan of care in response to the needs of his/her assigned patients, providing direct nursing care to patients on a designated unit.
The Emergency Department RN provides care to medical, trauma, and psychiatric patients on two campuses.
Responsibilities include rapid assessment and treatment of patients in cases of acute illness and trauma.
Minimum Qualifications Educational: Required – Associate of Science – Nursing Successful completion of LRGHealthcare ED orientation required.
Preferred – Bachelor of Nursing Degree
Training: Required Advanced Training in Position Subject Matter Medical Terminology Experience: Preferred 2+ Years Emergency Department New nursing graduates must have prior ED Technician and/or EMS experience Certification, Licensure, Registration Requirements: Current credentials are required for all practitioners requiring a license, certification or registration to perform their responsibilities. Licensure: Required – Registered Nurse Certification: Required – within 2 months of hire date or prior to completing the Emergency Services Orientation ACLS – Adv Cardiac Life Support BLS – Healthcare Provider PALS – Pediatric Adv Life Support
Required – within 6 months of hire date CPI – Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
